What is NSDC?

NSDC stands for National Skill Development Corporation. It is a public-private partnership (PPP) in India that aims to skill and reskill Indians in order to meet the demands of the country's growing economy. The organization was set up by the Indian Government in 2008, under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
NSDC's main objective is to provide skill training to youth and to enhance their employability through industry-relevant training programs. The organization provides various training programs across various sectors, such as retail, hospitality, healthcare, construction, and information technology, among others. The organization also helps in setting up and funding training centres and institutes across the country, in partnership with the private sector.

NSDC also works with state governments, industry partners, and other stakeholders to identify and assess the skill needs of the country, and to develop and implement training programs that align with those needs. It also provides financial assistance to training providers through its various financing arms such as NSDF (National Skill Development Fund) and SMART (Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion)
NSDC is playing an important role in the Skill India campaign, which aims to train and empower over 400 million Indians with the skills required for the 21st century.
